Worship at CCC

We love to worship at Calvary Christian Center!

We have no printed order of worship, nor complicated ritual to follow.  Our worship is based upon the pattern revealed in the Bible.  This will give you some information about the scriptural pattern of our worship to God.  Visit us at our Worship and Fine Arts Ministries Page for more info!   Perhaps God has gifted you with a passion for music, drama, design, or multimedia techniques. We want to partner with you and help cultivate the gifts that God has given you so that others may experience the presence and power of Christ.   If you would like more information about volunteering in our Worship and Fine Arts department, please contact Pastor Michael D. Ciociola, Worship and Fine Arts Pastor.

Why do we stand to sing?
"And the Levites...stood up to praise the Lord..." (2 Chr. 20:19)
"...every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb..." (Rev. 7:9-10)

Why do we sing choruses as well as hymns?
"...be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord..." (Eph. 5:18-19)

Why do we clap our hands?
"Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy." (Psalm 47:1)

Why do we lift our hands?
"I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands." (Psalm 63:4)
"Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord." (Psalm 134:2)

Why do we have audible praise to God?
"Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name." (Psalm 103:1)

Why does the whole church pray at once for specific needs?
"...they raised their voices together in prayer to God." (Acts 4:24)

Why are musical instruments a part of the worship service?
"Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals."  (Psalm 150:3-5)

Why do we have this type of worship?
"God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth." (John 4:24)

Why do we believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit?
"To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.  All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines." (1 Cor. 12:8-11)

What is prophecy?
"The Sovereign LORD has spoken- who can but prophesy?" (Amos 3:8)
"But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort." (1 Cor. 14:3)

Why do we have speaking with tongues and interpretation of those tongues in church?
"Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good....  to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues." (1 Cor. 12:7,10)

Why do we sing in tongues and in English?
"For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful.  So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding."  (1 Cor. 14:14-15)
